In order for that to work I would first like to have upscaling capabilities. 
Currently you could enter something bigger than your crop allows, too, but 
when doing it with real world units and PPI it gets even more hidden if your 
image actually allows the requested size.

So, I agree that it might be a nice feature, but it's not straight forward to 
implement (in a good way). Until then I would appreciate a feature request in 
our bug tracker.
