I have couple of idea here to vitalize the database community.

1. Make Oracle DBMS Run on OpenSolaris a priority - This is where the 
bulk of the questions from what I have seen in recent times.

2. For us (The community) need to figure out how to make it easy to 
deploy/maintain databases on OpenSolaris
   Like creating a repository of dtrace scripts, other tools here for 
monitoring databases here.
   (I can think of creating a project on kenai and linking it from 
here.. If interested I can start some work around it)

3. For one create a list of requirements from a database point of view 
of packages needed in Opensolaris /contrib to invite contributions from 
members related to this community.

Let me know what you guys think.
