I've updated the README.txt on my fork, I hope it's ok (sometimes it's hard to believe English is my first language). I'll do the API itself as soon as I figure all the cryptic errors yardoc dies with whenever my syntax isn't quite what it expects :)
http://github.com/shanna/dm-more/commit/14cd58d8de4bbee902e988dbe3061ab7415c96a4 I didn't include dm-solr-adapter and dm-xapian. dm-solr-adapter returns a DM::Collection on #read_many and does a Model#load on #read_one. It would be easy for someone to adapter this interface to dm-is-searchable though. dm-xapian at first glance is just poorly named. It's not an 'is' plugin or an adapter and as far as I could tell doesn't use DM at all, just Merb.
