As I said I had *very* similar problem and I thought there was a problem with mutex handling in my Dsplink/kernel combination. My tentavive fix is at [1]. However, later my problems did not ended, and I downgraded my Dsplink version to 1.40. 1.40 was more stable than 1.60 for me. But later on I hit a kernel bug which is present in 2.6.28 but not in 2.6.27/29, please see [2]. After applying that fix, no more Dsplink problems( at least for now). However, I never tried 1.60 again.
