Shaun,

Since you don't know the MVS info, you have to use the
AIX gateway.  I would uncatalog the MVS database and
dcs directory info from the Linux machine.  It doesn't
need to be there, its already on the AIX machine.

db2 uncatalog db db2dsne
db2 uncatalog dcs db db2dsne

Then attach to the gateway and try issuing your
connect statement:

db2 attach to gateway user xxxxx using xxxxx
db2 connect to db2dsne user xxxx using xxxxx 

Let me know if that works.
