This is probably not going to help you, but at some point in
the past I experienced the same with Win clients connecting
to our OS/2 UDB databases.
In _some_ cases I _thought_ I traced the problem to users not
having the CCA automatically configure the connection; instead
they had started configuring things by themselves, and even
though the settings appeared to be correct, somehow this left
the client unable to connect to that particular server.
