On UNIX based platforms it is more or less fixed. db2icrt utility is the one who sets
all the "softlinks" and doesn't accept any directory parameter. Most of utilities use
this relative path on UNIX.
But it can be changed, not so easy though!. Windows based platforms it is same as any
other software, you can install it anywhere. If you want to change it after
installation, you have to modify
windows registry and user environments. In a nut shell, it can be done but not
recommended ;-)

Quick question: is the DB2 binaries directory fixed, or can you modify it
by using a unique path name? If you can modify it, is that only at install
time or is there any config parm to do this?
