Hi,

I can't provide you with raw vs filesystem benchmarks as I've only ever used
one or the other, never side by side, but I don't think there is more
administrative overhead with raw devices.  

There is more to do in setting the tablespaces up and ensuring permissions
are correct.  Also you cannot get space information on the lvs other than
through db2, but given that this is preallocated DMS space anyway, it
doesn't make much difference.

Given that it's generally thought raw devices are faster I would definitely
check out implementing them.
