Simon,

Assuming you are on the same operating system (AIX : the version isn't a
problem) and the new machine has DB2 at the same or higher version and
fix level, then a restore from a backup is the best way to go.

If the disk structure and directories are different on the target
machine then you will need a redirected restore to change the tablespace
definitions.

I can help with a script which will give you a "starter for ten" in
generating the redirected restore script.  Just drop me a private email
and I'll send it to you.
