I would first of all list and save the node and database directories, then:
        1. Use MS Add/Remove Programs and remove UDB Runtime Client code
        2. manually delete the SQLLIB library and all of the subdirectories
(if still there)
        3. rename c:\db2log\db2.log to db2log.old (this is the log of what
was installed for db2)
        4. reboot your PC
        5. load the new UDB code & recatalog node and DB entries

Subject: [DB2EUG] Removing DB2 products from NT

High to all,

I have a problem similar to the one described in 200001/msg00100
I had a UDB V6.1 runtime client installed on my NT machine.
Then I tried to install UDB V7.2 runtime client over that previous one.
I get messages
"DB2 is currently running and locked by the following process(es) :
and then practically every process in my PC is mentioned (even cdplayer.exe
!)
I started by killing processes but in the end my pc hung.
Then I tried to uninstall V6.1 but I get the same list of processes locking
DB2.
I end up with a partially uninstalled UDB, so I now am in the middle of
things and can't get back and can't get forward .
I can't wait for suggestions so I'm having the PC reinstalled from scratch.
I like to post this question anyway in case this should occur again.
Any help is very appreciated !
