I'm not sure if V6.1 has it or not, but V7.1 has a utility executable from the Command Window named "db2unins" that uninstalls DB2 and cleans up the services, registry, directories and such. I've used it and it clean almost everything up that it created. I only had to go in and delete a couple directories in the install path. I was then able to install V7.1 without a problem after that.

Then I tried to install UDB V7.2 runtime client over that previous one. I get messages "DB2 is currently running and locked by the following process(es) : and then practically every process in my PC is mentioned (even cdplayer.exe !) I started by killing processes but in the end my pc hung. Then I tried to uninstall V6.1 but I get the same list of processes locking DB2. I end up with a partially uninstalled UDB, so I now am in the middle of things and can't get back and can't get forward . I can't wait for suggestions so I'm having the PC reinstalled from scratch. I like to post this question anyway in case this should occur again.
