I see a big difference between the size of a database backup and the size of all of the exported tables. For example, I've backed up a database that creates a 4GB file. If I export all of the tables for that same database (using db2move) the total size is 1.7GB. My questions: Why the big difference? Is there a way to make the backup smaller?
