I would like to get the word out to the DB2
DBA community that we are actively seeking a qualified consultant for a Production
Support DB2 Mainframe DBA/Peoplesoft consulting engagement.
This is primarily a production DB2 Mainframe DBA position
also calling for experience with Peoplesoft installation, upgrades and
utilities. As for the Peoplesoft
requirement, we are not seeking a PeopleSoft expert, but rather
someone with PeopleSoft (V8.8) doing DBA activities including PeopleSoft upgrade and implementation and PeopleSoft
tools.
The primary job function for this position is
still DB2 Mainframe DBA.
The requirements for this position are as
follows:
3 to 5 years in physical database design, with an emphasis on database problem determination and resolution. The candidate must have extensive experience in database backup and recovery, as well as strong experience in database performance tuning, implementation of new databases as well as providing maintenance for existing databases, monitoring, database utilities, database security and database object reorganization. College degree or equivalent experience required. Specifically for DB2 Mainframe/Peoplesoft - the candidate must have extensive knowledge of JCL and be familiar with mainframe job schedulers and SMS management of data. Peoplesoft experience is
required.
