On 2.1 without this patch, doing a 'rm ~/.openoffice.org2' and starting a new profile solves this issue. For some reason, this problem only appears if you have a a profile created under a build earlier than OOE680_m6 but if your profile is created under OOE680_6 , this issue doesn't happen. When I removed ~/.openoffice.org2 and started openoffice base again. the problem stopped happening.
