Correction: I do not have C. I had it on an old machine which I have
disposed of. Do have Java. Could probably get C.

However, I have decided for the present to use PL/pgSQL. At some point in
the future I see a new computer. I have had considerable grief trying to
use facilities built for UNIX boxes on my Windows machine (I unsuccessfuly -
with numerous problems - tried to install MySQL. There have been zero
problems with PostgreSQL.). Much of the installation instructions I have
encountered are for UNIX boxes; I am tired of translating them into the
Windows world. So, my next machine will be a UNIX box. (Then there is the
decision of what UNIX.)

Thanks for reading my epistle and thanks for any help you might have
offered.
