Darren, if you want to do something really directly useful for the DBI
ecosystem I would encorage you (or anyone else) to work on creating a

p.s. I'm unlikely to pay much attention to any proposal that requires
getting a significant number of driver authors to make significant changes.
A common test suite is a far higher priority in my opinion, with more
benefits for more people more quickly.
Sure, I could do that, eventually, maybe in 2012. It would in all practical
sense be a prerequisite for my proposal too, so to help know that any
implementations of my proposal didn't break something that works now. -- Darren
