Installing DBI

I have difficulty installing DBI because the installment package uses gcc. I
do not have gcc on my machine and I can not install gcc because that
requires a C compiler. A C++ compiler-which is what I have won't work. I
want to know if there is a way to install DBI without going through a build
usiing gcc.
