This is somewhat off topic, but I can't think of a better group to get
advice from on this question:

Our company has a lot of extracts written in C++ against Oracle (gcc
compiler on Solaris) using a homegrown DBI written by someone who no longer
works for us. It's a fairly good interface, but not without flaws and is
notoriously difficult to maintain. Those of us who use Perl are very
impressed with the Perl DBI and we figure there must be something available
for C++ that's at least as good. Management balks at the cost of Rogue
Wave. We've looked at OCS and it seems OK but we don't know if we can rely
on it for upgrades.

Does anyone have an opinion on this subject?

Regards,

Tim Helck
