Can you give examples? I'm not entirely sure what you mean..
the following line from the dbmail/Makefile.in:
$(COMPILE) -Wp,-MD,.deps/$(*F).pp -c $<
the -Wp,-MD,.deps/$(*F).pp options are GCC specific.
I'm not sure what we need to do to generate them portably using
the native toolset.
I don't know how to fix this. Dan (Weber), you know a lot more about
autoconf than I do. Do you have a clue?
IIRC, libtool handles all that stuff. He is write since libtool was
primarily made to work with gcc, and just about every other cc uses gcc
option handles ( e.g. tcc, icc, bcc).
To fix this:
rm -f buildtools/config.{sub,guess} buildtools/ltmain.sh
install UnixWare hacked libtool
then rebuild the configuration system with 'autoreconf -f -i -v'

My bad this is really an automake-1.4 issue. I am rewriting the build system
for automake-1.8 since automake-1.4 is shit.
Dan,
Would an account on my box help here?
