Wolfram, IMNSHO, not everybody uses the ports system. It would still be good to at least mention it in the install documentation. I've noticed this lots of times in documentation for other packages, even when they do have a port in BSD.
I do not currently use the port system for my production install of the dbmail-1.2.x branch, but I did not run into this issue before due to the existence of a build.sh and install.sh script that did all of the work for me. I don't see what difficulty the documentation would create. Documentation is currently dbmail's major fault at the moment. From the standpoint of a user, putting a small note like this into the INSTALL document makes perfect sense. This is simply a QA issue, and I'm not sure why this would be a contentious issue to yourself, or anyone else for that matter. Angus. Message: 6 Date: Wed, 8 Sep 2004 17:58:20 +0200 From: "Wolfram A. When dbmail 2.0 gets to a stable release, I'd suppose there'll very soon be an official FreeBSD port Makefile (containing USE_GMAKE="YES") like the one for the stable dbmail 1.2x port right now in FreeBSD ports. -- Wolfram > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ilja Booij > Sent: Mittwoch, 8.
