The following issue has been RESOLVED. ====================================================================== http://www.dbmail.org/mantis/view.php?id=257 ====================================================================== Reported By: idk Assigned To: aaron ====================================================================== Project: DBMail Issue ID: 257 Category: general delivery Reproducibility: N/A Severity: feature Priority: normal Status: resolved Resolution: fixed Fixed in Version: SVN Trunk ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 21-Aug-05 01:17 CEST Last Modified: 30-Apr-06 11:50 CEST ====================================================================== Summary: Wish: external forwarding with alternate return path Description: This should be configurable ideally. When mail arrived into an external forwarded address, it is resent by sendmail with from (-f attribute or MAIL FROM command) set to an originator. When originator is not known, "DMBAIL-MAILER" is used.
First, a constant "DMBAIL-MAILER" should be configurable. Second, there should be optional to select which of addresses will be used as return path (originator, forwarder, mailer, or else). ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aaron - 30-Apr-06 01:43 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This is one of those things that really would make good use of the 'clientid' field to setup different mailer daemon addresses for each client's domains. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aaron - 30-Apr-06 11:50 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, actually, we've had a POSTMASTER value in dbmail.conf for a while, but nobody was respecting it in pipe.c. Added some extra configurability for auto notify, per the bug. I'm not going to go crazy with figuring out whose addresses to use and all that jazz; a proper postmaster address should be good enough!
