works on my postgresql.. I'm using 7.2.1; i tried the following in the psql program:

dbmail=# create table testtable (testfield DATETIME DEFAULT '1979-11-03 22:05:58' NOT NULL);
CREATE
dbmail=# \d testtable
                                Table "testtable"
  Column   |            Type             |               Modifiers
-----------+----------------------------- +---------------------------------------- testfield | timestamp without time zone | not null default '1979-11-03 22:05:58'

I don't know if anybody has already done this or not but be sure to change the postgresql schema file. Currently you are specifying a DATETIME field when it should be TIMESTAMP. DATETIME is not a valid postgresql field type.
