I have just installed dbmail, edited the file /etc/dbmail.conf, but when I
try to add a user, the mysql log says that "access is denied". I read that
there was a program called dbmail-config, but that has not been installed
on my system. I also read, in the mail archives, that "/etc/dbmail.conf
has been hardcoded as the config file". Does that mean that dbmail-config
is no longer necessary? If so, why is my dbmail user being rejected by
mysql?

I also read this in the mailing list archives:
>this is because the 'make config' is now obsolete - it concerned the
>old-style dbmail-config program which is no longer used (it is replaced
>by the dbmail.conf file)

Can someone tell me the proper way to install and configure dbmail. I
really like the concept, and I would like to use it.

I am using build.sh on dbmail 1.1

Greetings.
Ian.
