correct me but the checkbox "Am server suchen" translated to english means exactly "search on server" and is only available for imap-folders, so i would expect it uses really imap-search another indication is that in our pre-dbamil times thunderbird complained about "not supported from the server" however, no idea why it did not trigger the bug fixed this weekend and really not understanding why the login of horde3 does trigger this (saw some complaints about small queries in the past with 2.2x, but not much and aroudn 30 seconds all ofthem containing %charsettest% so i guess it was horde too)
