There were just a handful of packages that still used gmime-2.2. The rest had all switched to gmime-2.4 (gmime-2.6 didn't exist back then). So the release managers decided to drop 2.2 completely, having notified all downstream users well in advance. Of course dbmail-3 already used gmime-2.4 but I just didn't have the time or motivation to push for inclusion of dbmail-3. For more background: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=549058 As for Ubuntu: they simply followed debian. -- ________________________________________________________________ Paul J Stevens pjstevns @ gmail, twitter, skype, linkedin * Premium Hosting Services and Web Application Consultancy * www.nfg.nl/[email protected]/+31.85.877.99.97 ________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________ DBmail mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.fastxs.nl/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dbmail
