the follwoing is *not* meant abusive!

the problem is not try to make autoconf better

the problem is that you obviously tend to lose your focus and make not well 
tested
commits, start diretly after it with a fix on a complete different part while 
others
are still broken and this makes it hard to follow where regressions are 
introduced
for anybody including yourself

this is with my developer hat on the reason for regressions like autoreply too
only god knows which commit in the past introduced the regression
