I suggest to add "reload" to the (Gentoo) init scripts (I duno
about other distributions scripts)
Gentoo init scripts are written by ebuild maintaners, not the
software author. You either patch them yourself or file a Gentoo bug.
Patching is really not that hard. Just something along the lines of
reload() {
checkconfig || return 1
ebegin "Logrotating dbmail"
start-stop-daemon --quiet --pidfile "${PIDFILE}" \
--signal HUP
eend $?
}
might suffice. I didn't check this snipped though.
