overkill?? Explicit is always better than implicit.
I prefer patches generated with 'git format-patch', or pull requests
from a private git branch.
I don't maintain most of the stuff below contrib. And since there is no
way I'm testing init scripts other than debian/centos, I'm not even
going to try to maintain the gentoo version.
