I was asking Bill Gadsden about the status of the Matrix 68 reels, and he said that he got 10/10, 10/30, and 12/16 transfered to cdr.
I missed the initial signup for the Deadlists Matrix Tree, but got these from someone recently: 10/10 (3 cds), 12/16 (2 cds), and 12/24 (one cd about 31 minutes). I think that this is all that was on tree right? Was 10/30 included in the tree? Does anyone have the source info for the 31:13 cdr of 12/24 that was included in the tree? I ask because Bill says that his reel of that one is MIA, so someone elses tape must have been used as the source for the tree. Bill also thought that his 12/24 reel was more like 90 minutes long. Bill mentioned that 10/8 has not been transfered yet since he is also missing the 1st of the two reels, but he does know someone who has a copy of it that could be used instead. I mentioned that I thought that the best thing to do for 10/8 is to get it transfered from whatever the best material is thats currently available. If the the reel that has one more generation can all go on 1 cd, then there might be be a 1 for 1 replacement upgrade if the original reel ever turns up. 12/24 is easily the best music of any of the Matrix tapes. I ought to check what I have on cassette for 12/24 - I seem to remember that it was one 90 min cassette with something on both sides. Need to compare that to the new cdr of 12/24. Dave S.
