IRAN:

Tehran governor bans anti child execution rally

Tehrans governor declined to issue a permit for a gathering which was to
be held on Tuesday in protest to the execution of under-18 year old
children, Irans Etemad Daily reported.

In the past two days, Iranian noble peace prize laureate and human rights
advocate, Shirin Ebadi along with a number of NGOs have repeatedly called
for holding a gathering as a sign of protest to the execution of u-18 year
old children, something permissible in Irans legal system.

Tehrans governorate referred to the religious aspect of the issue and the
sensitivity it may provoke as the reason for its opposition to the move.
