Amnesty International - International Secretariat
Amnesty International seeks a Death Penalty Coordinator to lead and
coordinate AIs program of work against the death penalty as part of its
strategy to uphold the physical and mental integrity of all people. You
will lead the development and implementation of AIs global strategy for
the abolition of the death penalty and contribute to the development of
standards for research and policy application in relation to the death
penalty. You will conduct research into aspects of the death penalty and
supervise the work of others, as well as liaising with other organisations
and representing AI internationally.
The post requires extensive proven experience of human rights research,
intergovernmental advocacy work or campaigning on the death penalty. You
must have excellent analytical, communication and representational skills
and a sensitivity to different cultures and backgrounds. Fluent English is
essential and knowledge of other languages is an asset.
