INDONESIA:

33 Foreign Drug Convicts On Death Row


The 33 convicts currently on death row in Indonesia and awaiting execution
are foreigners convicted for drug dealing, a state prosecutor said.

"There are 33 convicts who have gone through the legal system," junior
criminal prosecutor Abdul Hakim Ritonga said.

"All 33 are foreigners convicted for drug-related crimes and most of them
are Nigerians."

Ritonga said 19 of the 33 convicts would most likely be executed this
year.

"Of the 33 awaiting execution, 19 have exhausted all possible legal
measures," he said.
