Hi all, I've just acquired a VT420 and would like to use it with both a PC64-275 Cabriolet and PC164lx running Debian 2.2... I've always used a VGA console previously and would like to remove the VGA adapters from both machines.
I have a couple DEC MMJ -> DB9F adapters which can be custom configured. After searching online, I found three different configurations possible for this adapter but do not know which to use! I could try all three, but would rather not have to do any rework on these adapters. 1. Which wiring configuration has anyone used with success on a PC64-275 and/or PC164lx to see SRM at the very least ;-) ? 2. I'm assuming that the VT must be set to 8/1/none to work correctly. 3. What /etc/inittab entry must I use to get a login prompt? If anyone has had success with a VT on these Alpha boards, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
