Well from what I have read, the udev update in unstable right now, does NOT work with kernels less than 2.6.12 in some ways. I don't know exactly what it breaks, but it breaks somethings. On the other hand without the new udev apparently 2.6.12 and above don't work. Rather unfortunate if you can't go back to a previous kernel once you upgrade. Seems like a big mistake on the part of udev and/or the kernel maintainers. I haven't actually used scsi burners for quite a long time, so I heaven't had to deal with sg for a while. Everything works perfectly for me under 2.6.11 with the old udev (or no udev at all in many cases) using just the ide-cd interface. I have mostly been burning dvds though using growisofs, so cdrecord could be broken for all I know. Len Sorensen -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
