You can see it on the back where the slots are located.  Do you have a
rackmount or desktop model?  You should be able to see it through the
slots.

Yup, make certain your serial port works first.
        grep ttyS /var/log/dmesg  (will tell you if it was not built as a
                module, else if it was a module it will be listed in by lsmod.)
        dmesg|grep ttyS
