Well, I've used sshfs from vbox's to host many, many times, without an issue.So you had a problem with sshfs permissions, rather than investigatesaid problem (e.g. https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/59685/sshfs-mount-sudo-gets-permission-denied )you chose to blame the Raspberry Pi.
