Hi
The task selection menu has become so crowded with tasks that it
became almost unuseable for novice users.
Besides renaming packages which are not ment for tasksel, a
hierarchical selection would probably be helpful as well.
Especially if the user could select all tasks of a category by
selecting the category, without even having looked at all the
tasks the category contains.
Example:
o at the beginning:
science
o fully expanded:
science
|- physics
|- mathematics
| |- analysis
| `- statistics
`- biology
One could select mathematics without expanding the tree further.
IMHO this would make tasksel more useable for both first-time users
and the more advanced ones.

The new organisation of tasksel with dependency packages just dropped
the need for any hierarchical task selection. This was even pointless
before, as soon as language tasks had been made invisible to users.
