Holger, I don't think Phosh needs network-manager-applet. Phosh is an alternative to GNOME Shell but it's similar to GNOME Shell.
My guess is that you can remove the dependency completely because phosh-core depends on gnome-control-center which recommends nm-connection-editor. Thank you, Jeremy Bícha
