Hi

My apologies for the delayed reply. I wanted to write something more
than "my first thought is", but I have not investigated further.

I have noticed that some of the desktop packages, e..g.
task-gnome-desktop and task-cinnamon-desktop, have a single Recommends
on a meta package. Would this solve the problem for
task-xfce-desktop? In src:tasksel, you could Recommends: xfce-meta
(or so) and in xfce-meta you could have Depends and Recommends as you
prefer.

If certain packages really do need to be made Depends in src:tasksel,
then please feel free to revert my changes as you see fit.

However, I do suggest trying to have as few Depends as possible. As
long as tasksel is considered a key package, we are effectively blind
to RC bugs in those Depends, and if tasksel is not considered key,
then tasksel will be under constant threat of removal due to RC bugs
in those Depends.

Regards
Graham
