Hello,

I am trying to install Debian 13 (amd64) on an ASUS T100TA.

The tablet has a 64-bit Intel CPU, but its firmware/UEFI is 32-bit. I want to install a normal 64-bit Debian amd64 system, not a 32-bit system.

I downloaded the official Debian 13.7 amd64 netinst ISO:

debian-13.7.0-amd64-netinst.iso

I verified its SHA256 checksum successfully.

However, the ISO does not contain:

EFI/BOOT/BOOTIA32.EFI

I wrote the ISO to a USB flash drive using Rufus (I tried ISO mode and DD mode). The T100TA detects the USB drive in its boot menu, but selecting it simply falls back to booting Windows 8.1.

The Debian Wiki page for the ASUS T100TA says that Debian 13 supports this hardware and that the 64-bit CPU / 32-bit EFI configuration is supported.

Could you please clarify:

1.

What is the recommended official way to install Debian 13 amd64 on a
system with 32-bit UEFI such as the ASUS T100TA?

2.

Should the Debian amd64 installer media contain BOOTIA32.EFI?

3.

If not, where should the appropriate 32-bit EFI bootloader be
obtained from, and how should it be added to the installation media?

4.

Would the Debian 13 amd64 DVD-1 image be more appropriate than
   netinst for this hardware?

I would like to keep the existing Windows 8.1 installation on the internal eMMC untouched and install Debian on an external SD card.

Thank you for your help.
