Yep, me too ;-) :( The debian kernels in woody are also initrd ones, that's why I've always built my own kernels. Aren't the sarge kernel using initrd as well. So it should be "normal" for d-i to install initrd-kernels, why are there problems ? > Another solution would be for base-installer to install the -powerpc > kernel on your box too, since the main reason to use the -powerpc-small > kernel is so that it will fit on a floppy with miboot. I did that manually and it worked. That's what I did, when the installer failed: switched to another console, then chroot /target ifconfig eth0 up && passwd dpkg --configure -a apt-get install ssh joe kernel-image-2.4.25-powerpc-pmac # set open firmware nvsetenv boot-device ata/[EMAIL PROTECTED]:0 nvsetenv boot-file "/boot/vmlinux-2.4.25-powerpc" nvsetenv output-device screen nvsetenv input-device kbd quikconfig joe /etc/quik.conf quik cat /etc/quik.conf & reboot -------schnipp------------ root=/dev/hda2 # Generated by quikconfig # (C) 1998 Matt McLean <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> # partition=3 # map=/boot/map timeout=20 image=/boot/vmlinux-2.4.25-powerpc label=Linux read-only -------schnapp------------ The computer then booted sarge from hard discs (yippie! ;-) but the last configuration bits and the question for tasksel or dselect were missing. Is there support for setting open firmware values in debian-installer at the moment ? regards, Holger -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
