I have some practical questions: on machines already running with the
current state of kFreeBSD Jessie, will those still get updates? Will
those updates come from the official Debian mirrors? Do I as a user have
to change anything?

Or let us rephrase the question: what are the practical impacts of this
decision for users already running Debian kfreebsd?
