I got the following mesage from Synaptic when I tried to upgrade sys-rc:

I would say that it isn't a bug at all.  If the submitter's sysvinit
were a Debian package then the installation would not fail because
sysv-rc declares:

    Replaces: sysvinit (<< 2.85-1)

The submitter has sysvinit version 2:2.84-181 from another distribution.
He should upgrade his sysv-rc from that distribution.
