Severity: normal
Changing a message folder's store format (right click -> properties ->
new store format) seems to lose date information on the messages in
the folder.
I came across this when I changed a few folders from mbox format to
Maildir format. I had a vfolder with the following rules:
(if any rules match)
[date received] [is after] [2 days ago]
[status] [is not] [read]
The purpose of this setup is to have new messages with relevant
context, for mailing list use.
After changing the store format, the vfolder showed all
messages. Opening the converted folder with the search rule (under
"advanced...") [date received] [is before] [2 days ago] showed no
messages. And yet the date column showed the correct received date.
I tried making a new vfolder with the same settings, to test whether
it's just an issue of updating the vfolder. The same happens, all
messages shown.
I also tried converting the folder back to mbox format. Didn't help.
Here's a snip of one file in the Maildir-formatted folder, the headers
all the way to the body. As you see, Delivery-date and Date are
intact. Evolution shows this message when filter rules are set to less
than one day ago.
