Package: amavisd-new
Version: 20030616p9-1
Severity: normal

Is there any reason to create logs with timestamps following locales?

giu 25 17:33:24 localhost amavis[31949]: starting.  amavisd-new at alpha
amavisd-new-20030616-p9, Unicode aware, LANG=it_IT
giu 25 17:33:24 localhost amavis[31949]: Perl version               5.008003
giu 25 17:33:24 localhost amavis[31949]: Module Amavis::Conf        1.15
giu 25 17:33:24 localhost amavis[31949]: Module Archive::Tar        1.08
...

I found this entries in my /var/log/mail.log that is read by mailgraph for
traffic statistics and they makes it to crash. Should timestamps changes
depending by locales of system?

Futhermore amavisd-new logs to syslog by default (Debian default I think)
and not simply in his amavis.log, that could avoid this problem.

Thanks
Christian

Sounds sane. Bug fixed, it seems, so I close this report.

Niko, thanks for your concern. However, I have seen enough of your
thorough BTS handling that I hereby grant you license to mess around
with my bugs as you like - if I disagree I will simple revert the
changes :-)
