Package: libnss-ldap
Version: 220-1
Severity: important

libnss-ldap fails when server supports paged results and there are large
responses
(for example listing all users hangs on first page, when there are groups with
lots of
members ls /file/belonging/to/such/groups basically hangs etc..)
All that was needed to fix this in my case was adding --enable-paged-results
to configure
in debian/rules. ( this fix helps only partially with libldap 2.1.30, it looks
like there are
~50 bugs in 2.1.30 that are fixed in libldap 2.2.17 )
