Package: freeciv-gtk
Version: 1.13.0-0.1
Severity: grave
Tags: sid
Justification: system crash

Today I ran civclient-gtk and the system completely halted.
Strangely, the mouse was still usable, but the keyboard didn't respond
and the box didn't even reply to pings from another machine, nor to
any kind of network access, and I had to reboot.

I tried to export the DISPLAY variable and to launch the program from
a console, to see if there were kernel panic messages or such, and
it did run just fine, without any kind of error message (except for the
sound module but it doesn't matter, does it?).

Summarizing the problem: the system hangs if I start freeciv from X, it
doesn't if I start it from console.

I don't know if it can be somehow related, but freeciv loads the "it-it"
locale: shouldn't it be [EMAIL PROTECTED], like the system setting?

Anyway, this bug only appeared today. I was using version 1.12.0 for
compatibility issues with some friends before, and only today I
installed 1.13.0 again, but the previous time I used it I hadn't had
any problem. In the meanwhile, however, I could have upgraded the
nvidia drivers (but I don't remember exactly if I did it before or after
that I tried 1.13.0 for the first time), libc6, and the packages related
to coreutils. I'll append version informations.

The nvidia-glx-src package was only in the woody release which is no
longer supported. The package is called nvidia-graphics-drivers now.
I'm closing your bug in the assumption that it doesn't apply to
nvidia-graphics-drivers but please let me know if that's not correct.
