package: sysklogd
version: 1.4.1-11

I have a computer with devfs mounted on /dev filesystem (no devfsd).

I noticed that syslogd complains about missing /dev/xconsole pipe.

In /etc/syslog.conf you have following lines:

daemon.*;mail.*;\
        news.crit;news.err;news.notice;\
        *.=debug;*.=info;\
        *.=notice;*.=warn |/dev/xconsole

Could you provide corresponding commands in /etc/devfs, so the kernel
would know to set up the /dev/xconsole pipe.

Is it possible to move /dev/xconsole to /tmp? Or some other location?

that's the case.

only if syslogd logs to it
