Severity: minor
The init script of sysklogd should not require the /dev/xconsole to be
present, because a lot of systems do not use this feature at all.
If the file is present, fixing its permission and owner may not be needed
(since they are correct anyway) and may not be possible due to a read only
root filesystem.
Therefore it would be good to:
- only create /dev/xconsole, if syslogd logs to it
- only fix permissions if they are wrong -or- ignore read only errors
Another solution would be to move the /dev/xconsole pipe to /run, if we ever
support this.
I suggest a debconf question, if user wants to use /dev/xconsole.
