Package: conky
Version: 1.4.4-1
Severity: normal

Hi!

I'm not able to enjoy a working double-buffer in conky on an Intel 965G
integrated graphics chipset.

When I start conky, I get:

  $ conky
  Conky: forked to background, pid is 4090
  $
  Conky: desktop window (5b) is root window
  Conky: window type - desktop
  Conky: hint - undecorated
  Conky: hint - below
  Conky: hint - sticky
  Conky: hint - skip_taskbar
  Conky: hint - skip_pager
  Conky: drawing to created window (1600002)
  Conky: failed to set up double buffer
  Conky: drawing to single buffer

And conky runs fine, except that it runs in single-buffer and
flickers...

If I force it to reread its configuration file (as suggested in the
manpage):

  $ killall -SIGUSR1 conky

I get a horribly garbled conky display (with seemingly different fonts
and overlapped values), as if at least two conky instances were running
at the same time and drawing to the same area...
And I get the following error:

  Xlib: extension "DOUBLE-BUFFER" missing on display ":0.0".
  Xlib: extension "DOUBLE-BUFFER" missing on display ":0.0".
  Xlib: extension "DOUBLE-BUFFER" missing on display ":0.0".
  Xlib: extension "DOUBLE-BUFFER" missing on display ":0.0".
  Xlib: extension "DOUBLE-BUFFER" missing on display ":0.0".
  Xlib: extension "DOUBLE-BUFFER" missing on display ":0.0".
  [...]

in an endless flood (until I kill conky...).

Feel free to reassign the bug to libx11-6 (version 2:1.0.3-7) or to
xserver-xorg-video-i810 (version 2:1.7.2-4), as appropriate, if the
issue is to be blamed to some lacking feature on their part.

So if the problem is solved by upgrade of Xorg I'm closing it.
